fractals reflections of universality 2024

ABOUT  FRACTALS

Fractal images are not painted by hand. They are created indirectly, with the help of mathematical algorithms and computers. The author’s hand no longer holds a brush or pencil but translates mathematical relationships into colors and shapes. Simple formulas create infinite colors that reflect all the complexity of the universe. The computer is a fundamental part of the creative process.

Like poetry and music, mathematics appears full of infinite possibilities and beauty through fractals. Mathematics expands our perception and opens the entrance to a mysterious world that is impossible to describe with words. A hidden parallel Universe of beauty and elegance, it is intricately intertwined with our reality. It is a world of fractals in an abstract mathematical space. The name fractal comes from the Latin word fractus — irregular, fragmented, broken. Fractals are mathematical shapes with infinitely rich, delicate, and repeating structures. Repetition is inexhaustible. Smaller parts appear as reduced versions of the whole or somehow resemble the structure of the whole. No matter how much we enlarge the picture, finer and finer details will be revealed that reflect the complexity of the reality in which we exist.

Relationships in fractal images operate on multiple levels. The visual level is characterized by endless colors and varieties that are uncommon in everyday life. The encounter with the unusual takes us to other aspects of our existence, to spheres, we are sometimes afraid to enter. Into the spheres of ourselves, our inner selves, trapped or perhaps just sleeping revelers who should be dancing through life, not just limping through it.

The willingness of science to face the irregular side of nature, the broken and disordered side, led to the emergence of a new scientific revolution at the end of the twentieth century. The theory of deterministic chaos appeared on the scientific scene. The laws of nature, contained in chaos and supported by mathematical certainty, created fractal geometry. The term chaos took on a new meaning; it stopped being commotion, disorder, and unpredictability. Fractals have become part of the natural world around us, from clouds and mountain rocks to processes in time like earthquakes or internet traffic.
